Advance registration on the Tour de Friends website is required. Register early, because participation is limited to 150 bike riders.
The focus of the Tour will be a bicycle-accessible scavenger hunt, for individuals, families, and teams of all ages. Prizes will be awarded to cyclists who complete the hunt, and correctly identify all of the items to be scavenged.
In addition to the scavenger hunt, DelDOT, Sussex Cyclists, and other organizations and local bike shops will be on hand to conduct a bike rodeo for children aged 4 to 13 years old, hands-on workshops on bicycle safety and basic bike repair/maintenance, and other fun activities for the whole family.
The event benefits the Friends of Cape Henlopen State Park (FOCHSP) , a volunteer organization whose mission is "to promote the protection and wise management of the diverse resources within Cape Henlopen State Park". Sussex Cyclists member Denny Shook is a member of FOCHSP and volunteers at its Bicycle Barn which loans bicycles to park visitors.
