WE NEED ADDITIONAL VOLUNTEERS

For Route Marking

10:00 am - 1:00pm on Friday, November 4

for the

Rehoboth Sunrise Rotary FUNdraising Ride

Note:  Rotary Ride is Saturday, November 5

We supported this worthy charity event in its 2020 inaugural year, again in 2021, and are back to lend support for 2022. This is a great ride and proceeds will primarily go to three of the many worthwhile programs that are sponsored by Rehoboth Sunrise Rotary.

At this time, we need Sussex Cyclist volunteers to place Route Arrows to mark the route.  This will be done the day before the ride on Friday, November 4.

The suggested plan is this:

Marking volunteers meet at 10:00 AM at the Dogfish Head Brewery (rear of parking lot), Milton. Bring a safety vest and/or wear high visibility clothing, broom or whisk broom to clear loose gravel before placing route arrows, beverage and snack(s).  Marking teams will be formed from volunteers.   You may also form a team of two or three before the 10:00am meeting, but it is suggested at least one team member be from the Rotary Volunteers (can be assigned at our meeting).

We need at least 10 volunteers from Sussex Cyclists and a similar number from Rehoboth Sunrise Rotary to hopefully complete all route markings by 1:00pm.

Note:  We always suggest teams of three or four that include volunteers from both organizations:  1. Driver,   2. The Route arrow placer(s), and  3.  Safety Monitor (will have a traffic directing flag).

Marking assignments will be determined and Route Arrows distributed at the 10:00am meeting that will include a brief presentation to insure uniform marking, Q & A session and a brief demonstration on how to place the arrows. Teams will then begin marking their assigned portion of the route.

Tentatively, the route has been divided onto 4 sections.   If we have less than 4 teams, then a team or teams may volunteer to mark more than one section.

You may use the registration link more than once to register others for the activity.

After marking the routes is completed,  volunteers may choose to do an optional de-brief over some brews at Dewey Brewing-Harbeson (Dogfish Head is closed starting at 10:00am for a private event).
